New Zealand Soccer has provisionally backed Wellington as the new home of a New Zealand-based Hyundai A-League franchise.

But the Wellington consortia must secure further capital base funding before NZ Soccer will commit to a licence agreement with A-League administrators Football Federation Australia.

NZ Soccer chief executive Graham Seatter said the national body would “partner” Wellington in its search for additional funding with the hope of signing a sub-licence agreement by Thursday week (March 8).
