The side were held goalless for the majority of the match by a determined Tupuji Imere and it wasn’t until the 83rd minute that Nako was able to find the net and give his side the 1-0 lead they needed for victory.
“We knew Jean Nako could do something in the last minute of the match and this is something he and the club will never forget,” Amicale technical director Anthony Pisano says.
“He came into the field of play and in just 15 seconds he made his first touch and scored and I know he won’t forget that in his life.”
Amciale now have a week to prepare before the Vanuatu Football Federation’s official national competition – the TVL National Super League – kicks-off on Monday 7 September against domestic rivals Tafea FC at 1pm.
