The Auckland event, to be held at the Sylvia Park shopping centre in Mt Wellington from 8.30am, is the last leg of the Oceania qualifiers for the FIWC and the OFC Final will take place in the afternoon.
With presenting partners EA SPORTS™ and Sony PlayStation®, the eighth edition of the FIWC has broken new records globally with over one million players registering for the tournament.

A combination of online qualification series and live qualifier events will determine the best 23 players in the world to join reigning FIWC champion Francisco Cruz at the Grand Final.

In Oceania, the ‘FIWC 2012 Live Event Series’ kicked off in Tahiti last year and has now reached New Zealand where the country’s best gamers will compete in Auckland for a chance to progress in the tournament.

Competing in the final will be the champions of Papua New Guinea, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Solomon Islands and Tahiti, with the eventual winner going on to represent Oceania at the FIWC Grand Final.
An announcement on the host city and the exact date of the Grand Final is expected to be made soon on FIFA.com
