The 20-year-old has joined his new club until November 20, and is expected to go directly into the squad for the home clash with Cardiff City on Wednesday, having turned out only for West Brom’s U-21 side so far this season.
Wood is approaching the move to The Den as an important one in his career.
“I’m not in the first team picture at West Brom so I’m dying to start playing regular football again,” he says.
“In January, I will give some thought to my long-term future but for now I’m just looking forward to playing for Millwall and hopefully scoring some goals.”
Ironically, Wood’s first professional hat-trick came at the expense of Millwall while on loan at Birmingham City last September.
The move comes on the back of some impressive form for the national side with Wood scoring two goals in two games in the Stage 3 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against New Caledonia and Solomon Islands recently.
His international tally is now sitting at seven goals in his last six outings with the All Whites.
