Representatives from 16 Vava’u football clubs, including their women’s football and Just Play departments, were present to hear the plans proposed for 2015.
Uele told those gathered that several courses have been directed to Vava’u to help boost the profile of the beautiful game among locals.
Also present on behalf of TFA was women’s football staff member Adelaide Tu’ivailala who says a women’s technical course will be held there and a women’s football league with full FIFA support is set to be launched.
Twelve women’s teams have registered for the league which is scheduled for kick-off on Sunday 18 April.
Uele says he’s pleased with the way the seminar went with plenty of positive feedback from those in attendance.
“I am very pleased with this seminar as the representatives were willing to learn and listen to the plan and when I allowed them to provide input, most of the questions raised were very constructive,” Uele says.
“They promised that they will commit to assist in any way they can as long as their competition is up-and-running. Since rugby is banned in Vava’u, we must work hard to bring football to everyone.”
