With players and invited guest gathered at the PNGFA Academy, General Secretary read a speech prepared by President David Chung.
The program provides a player centred approach with a daily football program for boys aged 13-17 focusing on football development.
The Super Value Stores/Da Edge come on board to support the Elite Player Academy Program with a cheque presentation of K20, 000.00 and K30, 000.00 in kind.
SVS Marketing Manager spoke a few words during the launch and said SVS is very keen in supporting such program especially when is centered on youth, helping them in sports and education as well.
Ms Baker challenged the boys to be good ambassadors and role models of the program.
A total of 26 players have started the program and will continue to add players that shows promise.
The program aim is to develop and strengthen in the country, identify, develop and educate players/staff to the highest possible level domestically and internationally by creating an elite football environment and inspire players to excel as role models in the community and create pathways leading to other careers in life.
An extensive range of exit routes and pathways are available to PNGFA graduates and will include Oceania Football league Clubs, European Football League Clubs, Asia Football League Clubs, and other Professional Leagues around the world and University Scholarships throughout the USA and New Zealand.
Training sessions will take place four times a week for two hours per session on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday starting at 16:00 – 18:00.
The program will take place at PNGFA Academy in Lae, Morobe Province for over 40 weeks per year.
