Lautoka have taken the lead in the Fiji National Soccer League points table after their big win over Rewa in the weekend.

The Sugar City boys who lost their Champion Vs Champion decider to Ba on Friday evening looked a completely different outfit against the Delta Tigers as they thumped the hosts 6-1 at Vodafone Ratu Cakobau Park .

Other results from the weekend saw Navua register an impressive win over Nadi edging the tough Jetsetters 1-0. Labasa import Alvin Avinesh stood out in the encounter and scored the decider.

Lautoka and Navua are level on 6 points but the Blues hold the bragging rights at the top of the table because of their superior goal differential.

Defending champs Ba suffered the biggest shock of the round as they were held to a 1-1 draw by a relatively newer and stronger Nadroga outfit that has been training hard under coaches Abraham and Archie Watkins.

Suva and Labasa both had a bye at the weekend.

Next weekends fixtures include Labasa hosting Rewa, Suva travelling to Nadroga, Ba playing Nadi at home, Navua entertaining Nasinu at Thompson Park and Tavua hosting Lautoka at Garvey Park.

With the aim of securing Fiji’s only O-League spot, each team is throwing out their best to remain in contention.
