The side lost the opening game of the tour 1-0 on Saturday, falling to a first-half goal from Javokhir Sokhibov at a sold-out Istiklal Stadium in Ferghana.
A number of players, including captain Adam Mitchell, joined the squad after spending the week with the senior All Whites in South Korea.
Coach Darren Bazeley made seven changes to the starting eleven for Tuesday night’s second match, but despite an equaliser by Wellington Phoenix’s Alex Rufer in the second half, goals to Eldor Shomurodov and Mirjamol Kosymov in either half secured a 2-1 win for the hosts.
Bazeley welcomed the experienced and cited an improved performance in the second game of the tour.
“We were the better team for quite long periods but we couldn’t get the goal,” Bazeley said.
“It was end to end and there were a lot of chances in the game and we dealt with their threats mainly. We felt we were the team which was pushing for the winner.
“It was disappointing to lose the game but we played well and showed improvements from the first game which is what we asked.
“Today was a step forward both in possession and out of possession and we found some answers to some questions we had.”
