Two goals by striker Richard Auram and winger Lewen Bob elevated Rapatona into second spot on the competition ladder with 22 points ahead of equally placed Maclarens in the tough Port Moresby men’s Premier soccer competition.

Rapatona blasted Markham Yarang 2-0 at Bisini One. At the same time, a fired-up Momase outfit dished out a similar scoreline against Cosmos at Bisini Two.

Rapatona coach Clement Cafu Anisan said the goals scored in each half  boosted the morale of his team.

The Manusians are two points behind Souths United, who have 24 points, and still have an outstanding game to play against LBC Defence.

Maclaren sit on third spot behind Rapatona on goal average, while University’s 1-1 draw with Maclaren ensured their fourth spot on the ladder.

Momase scored two goals through underrated striker Manu Miles against Cosmos to go on par with PS Rutz on 12 points.

Verave came back from 1-0 deficit to walk home victors with a 2-1 scoreline over PS Rutz. Rutz are struggling despite the injection of new blood into the team.

The goal scorers in this match were Boyd John in the fifth minute before striker Ismael Api and midfielder Ale John capped off another great comeback victory for the Central boys.
