LAUTOKA – It was goals-a-plenty on Match Day Two of the OFC Men’s Olympic Football Tournament in Fiji with Solomon Islands, Fiji and New Zealand all recording good wins. Leading the charge was the Solomon Island squad who beat the Cook Island’s 11-0.

Benjamin Totori was once again the catalyst for the rout scoring five goals and sitting high atop the golden shoe standings with eight goals from two games. In the second match of the day Fiji bounced back from their heartbreaking last minute 2-1 loss to New Zealand on Saturday by trouncing Papua New Guinea 7-1.

Malakai Tiwa scored a hat trick and was instrumental in the result which moves them to third on the table. In the day’s feature match New Zealand overcame a determined Vanuatu side to win 2-0 and sit in first equal with the Solomon Island side.

Costa Barbarouses scored one and set one up as New Zealand displayed a classy professional performance under the lights at Churchill Park. Both sides were reduced to ten men following an off the ball altercation between Dan Keat and Spencer Noal.
