The position will require management of all aspects of the accounts function, including payroll management for the staff, invoicing, debtor and creditor management and payment of creditors, management of cash and banking including bank reconciliations, and generation of financial reports.
The new Finance Officer will have to have experience in managing large volume accounts, accounting software packages and at least two years in a similar accounts focused position.
The successful candidate will also work with the PNGFA general seretariat team and will be responsible for management, maintenance and storage of all financial information and records including spreadsheets and databases, contracts, funding information, accounts, budgets.
The PNGFA has been charged with governance of football in Papua New Guinea since it was established in 1962. In 1963 the PNGFA became a full member of FIFA.
The PNGFA managed to operate from its own office in 1999 through the funding of OFC and FIFA. The first PNGFA office was opened in Lae and managed by a full time paid General Secretary. 1999 was also the year when the PNGFA Constitution was adopted.
Papua New Guinea finished fourth in its group at the OFC Nations Cup 2012 while its women’s team have won three South Pacific Games Women’s Football Tournament gold medals in a row.
