Heinghene and Mont Dore scored wins in a rain affected weekend in New Caedonia’s Super Ligue competition where two matches were called off due to inclement weather.

The matches between Mouli and Lossi and Magenta and Thio were both called off which gave the winners of the day a chance to jump to the top of the table.

Heinghene looked set to make the most of this opportunity when Marcellin Téouei opened the scoring early on and inspired Hienghène to blow out to a 3 – 1 lead at halftime. Teouei completed his hatrick in the second half and carried his side to a 4-2 final scoreline. Baco striker Stephan My scored a double for his side.

In the afternoons other match Temala and Mont Dore fought out an intense battle, cancelling out each others goals early on. Gael Ouedoy scored for Temala from the penalty spot to equalise after Francis Watrone had put Mont Dore ahead early in the match.

Monte Dore gained control of the match after this and restored their lead through two goals by Fabrice Wede.

Jean Patrick Wakanumune finished off the scoring in the second half and put the result out of doubt.

The third round will be played over three days on Saturday 25 October, Tuesday 28 October and Friday 31 October.
