LAUTOKA – Welcome to the final round of matches on Oceania’s ‘Road to Beijing’. Match Day 5 will see minnows Cook Islands play New Zealand on a sweltering hot day in Lautoka. It is 35 degrees celsius and mostly clear skies with no hint of rain.

Stu Jacobs team need just a point to confirm top spot against a team yet to score a goal. Jacob Spoonley is out injured and is replaced by Roy Bell. Jacobs has rested Cole Peverley, Craig Henderson, Hone Fowler, Shaun Van Rooyen, Cole Tinkler and Daniel Ellensohn, all of whom are on one yellow card.

Cook Islands have restored Remi Wearing to the starting line-up in place of Abraham Jim. Tuka Tisam has been benched after a promising start to the tournament was hampered by injury.

Cook Islands will be relying on the experience and leadership of Thomas Le Mouton and Joseph Le Mouton on what promises to be a most difficult assignment for their team this afternoon.
