Tuimasi Manuca scored twice as Ba hammered Suva 4-0 to displace Labasa at the top of the New World National Soccer League Super Six points table.

In the only match played over the weekend, the Vodafone sponsored Men in Black were on fire on home soil.

It was sweet revenge for Ba after suffering an embarrassing 4-2 loss at the hands of Power Electric Suva at Govind Park last year. Despite the win, Ba coach Yogen Datt expressed concern with the number of wasted chances.

"We missed too many goals," he said.

"I’m not totally satisfied with the performance of the players, especially in attack. The boys had one-on-one chances but failed to get the ball into the net.

"They wasted good goal scoring opportunities. We cannot let this happen as we are fighting for the NSL title.

"After scoring three goals in the first half the boys relaxed in the second spell. They lost concentration and momentum was lost. Suva also had their chances of scoring.

“With Petero Dauniseka and Esava Naqeleca returning, I’m predicting Suva to create some upsets in the IDC."

Manuca scored the opener. In the 37th minute, Maciu Dunadamu scored the second with an easy tap in.

National rep Avinesh Waran Swamy produced one of his deadly strikes in the 43rd minute. Ba led 3-0 at the break.

Ba missed two chances with Malakai Tiwa and Manuca striking the ball over the crossbar. Ba scored the fourth goal in the 51st minute from a corner kick. Swamy lobbing the ball for Tuimasi to nod it past Boletawa.

Maviliko Nakama missed two golden opportunities, slamming the ball over the cross bar. Tiwa’s drive in the 70th minute also lacked direction.
