Kossa FC team manager Willie Lai is stressing the importance of unity to his players in preparation for their O-league quest this year.
His side will face Fiji champions Ba on February 24th at Lawson tama and will be looking to improve on their first round 0-0 draw with Tafea.
Lai stressed the importance of Unity, Discipline and complimenting one another, during their meeting at King George Six field on Tuesday.
Lai said he saw some weaknesses in his team’s first match against Tafea of Vanuatu last year.
“Ba is a strong team as we already know,” said Lai. “Therefore we need to get maximum preparation on mental and physical strength.”
Lai said Kossa will focus on team play and not individuals to avoid putting a lot of expectation on just a few top players.
“If any of our players are absent or not performing, another one will step in without effecting the level,” said Lai.
Papua New Guinea international striker Reginald Davani will help to strengthen the Kossa ranks, joining the squad this week after arriving on Sunday.
After the Ba match, Kossa will face Tafea away on March 26 before completing the group stage with the return leg fixture against Ba at Govind Park, Fiji on March 29.
The winner of group B (Ba, Tafea, Kossa) will meet the winner of group A (Auckland, Waitakere, AS Manu Ura) in a final over two legs.
