The victory made it two from two for Tiki Toa at the tournament in Dubai, but with Iran producing an upset 5-3 victory over world champions Portugal they still aren’t assured of a place in the semi-finals.
Tahiti started fast against Mexico, scoring twice through Raimoana Bennett in the first period of play.
The second period was dominated by Mexico, as the North American representatives fought back to level scores, before Heimanu Taiarui and Heiarii Tavanae netted to regain the lead for Tiki Toa.
Some staunch defence to finish the match sealed the 4-3 win.
Tahiti face Portugal in a rematch of the 2015 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup final in their last pool game, with victory guaranteeing them first place in Group B.
A loss for Tiki Toa won’t end their hopes of progressing, but will leave them relying on other results going their way.
The Beach Soccer Intercontinental Cup consists of the best team from North America, South America, Africa, Asia, Europe, and Oceania, along with the reigning world champions and the host nation.
This year it is being contested by Portugal, Mexico, Argentina, Egypt, the UAE, Iran, Russia, and Tahiti.
