Rewa coach Manoj Kumar is delighted with the win and was pleased to open the campaign against such a high quality side.
“It is good to play a tough team like Ba during the first round of the tournament,” he says. “It really helped us iron out the mistakes. From here we know where we what we have to do in the rest of the competition.”
Two of the day’s other matches ended in draws.
Nadroga held Suva 1-1, while Navua and Labasa played out a scoreless stalemate.
Fiji’s O-League representative Lautoka began with a win, 2-0 over Nasinu.
The tournament resumes on Thursday and the final is scheduled to be played on Sunday.
