The semi-finals for the Vanuatu Football Federation’s National Super League are now confirmed, following Saturday’s Southern Regional quarter finals.
The games, which were held at Port Vila Stadium, saw Ifira Black Bird FC and Amicale FC book their spots in the final four, joining Malampa Revivers and Vaum United, who won their Northern Regional play-offs last month.
The semi-finals will be played back-to-back at the Luganville Soccer City Stadium on the island of Santo, with Malampa facing Ifira and Vaum taking on Amicale.
Both of the quarter finals saw goals aplenty, as Ifira won 5-2 and qualified through to the semi-finals of the competition for the first time in their history.
Substitute Leo Moli grabbed a double, while Lucien Hinge, Danstan Quanafia and Nikki Nilua also netted for Black Bird.
In the game which followed Amicale recorded a comfortable 4-0 victory, going ahead early via a James Naka penalty, before he doubled their advantage near half time.
Further goals to Fenedy Masauvakalo and Jackson Tasso wrapped up the victory for the Port Vila side.
After the semi-finals the two winning teams will have just two days to prepare for the final on 26 September, which will be held at the same venue.
The eventual winners will represent the VFF at the 2016 OFC Champions League.
