Makuru FC and Zome Mars FC have been stripped of valuable points in the DJ League for fielding ineligible players in previous rounds.

Makuru lost three points to Naha while Zome Mars lost three points a piece to both Kossa and Sunbeam.

Vice President of the HFA, Samson Faisi, revealed this yesterday after an executive comittee meeting.

Makuru fielded Nelson Sale and Alick Maemae in their game against Naha last week for which they won 3-1.

Zome Mars fielded James Naka against Kossa in their 1-1 all draw last week and again Tuesday this week in their 3-2 win against Sunbeam.

All three players had already signed transfers to move to other teams outside of the Solomon Islands.

“All these three players have signed their international transfer certificates (ITC) before the matches,” explained Faisi the organising committee chairman.

“The moment players signed their ITC they are unregistered from the HFA and DJ League and should not play any league match,” he said.

Sale and Maemae signed their ITC on the 1st October for Auckland City to play in the New Zealand Football Championship and the O league.

Naka signed his transfer on the 30th September to play in the Inter District Championship in Fiji but never went.

Faisi said Zome Mars should make a request to the Fiji Football Association through SIFF to field James Naka but they never did and it cost them.

“This is a warning to all clubs in the future to do things properly through the right process,” said Faisi.

Meanwhile, Sale and Maemae are already in New Zealand with their new club but James Naka is still in the Solomon Islands.
