Lautoka scored a convincing 5-0 over Tavua at Churchill Park yesterday to maintain their lead in the New World National League.

Striker Netani Momaivalu was the star for the league leaders, scoring a brace to lift his team to victory.

It was the only mid week match and it provided the Blues a chance to leap frog both Nadi and labasa on goal difference to claim the top spot

Momaivalu, a former Fiji under 20 squad member moved back to his home district this season after a year playing for Nadi and has been on form in recent games.

With the introduction of Momaivalu upfront Lautoka have been a joy to watch and has formed a dangerous partnership with Ratu Nakosia.

Marika Madigi, who is the son of former Fiji marksman Ravuama Madigi, along with Jon Vono Junior and Ratu Nakosia got the other goals.

Nakosia is the son of the former Fiji and Ba rep, the late Jone Nakosia.

Lautoka coach Dennis Singh said his brigade was still in the hunt for a top place finish which would give the side a chance to feature in the OFC O-League.
