The teams were officially presented with their trophies during a ceremony on 8 May, 2013 at the KVZK Studio in Utulei.
In the Varsity division Samoana ended the competition with a league-best 21 points, eight better than seond place finisher Fa’asao-Marist Crusaders, after seven wins and just one loss for the season.
The end of the league was on hold for a few days due to a make-up match between the Crusaders and Nu’uuli Voc-Tech Wildcats to determine the second place finishers. The Crusaders won their final match of the season 3-1 on 7 May.
Faga’itua Vikings with 11 points (3-2-3) finished third, followed by the Wildcats on ten points (3-1-4) with Tafuna Warriors rounding out the table in fifth (1-0-7).
Trophies, sponsored by Football Federation American Samoa, were handed out to the champions and runners-up, as well as the Most Valuable Player and Coach of the Year.
Kaleopa Siligi of Samoana was named the Varsity MVP while Samoana’s Silasila Samuelu got the nod for Coach of the Year.
In the Junior Varsity division the Crusaders, with 20 points (6-2-0), denied Samoana of the double as they completed the season two points clear of Samoana on 18 (5-3-1), to take the championship title.
Both teams played to a 0-0 draw on 2 May with the Sharks needing a win to claim the title.
Paul Collins and Fausia Leiato of Fa’asao-Marist took the MVP and Coach of the Year awards respectively.
Faga’itua with 13 points (4-1-2) came in third place while the Wildcats were fourth (1-0-7) and Tafuna fifith (1-0-7).
The boy’s soccer MVPs were both members of the American Samoa U-17 squad that competed at the 2013 OFC U-17 Preliminary tournament in Samoa in January.
