Two goals from captain Wahnawe Christelle and one from Xolawawa Celine is enough to give the visitors victory of Vanuatu.

Vanuatu through Leisale had few chances to score for Vanuatu in the second half but all her chances comes to nothing.
Port Vila woman’s football president Angela Malas said she is very proud of how her girls play against New Caledonia.
“All our young girls have shown that they can compete in highest level of woman’s football in OFC and made us all immensely proud. They have shown what is possible if one has the resolve, determination and persistence.”
“We lost to one of the best team in the Pacific games and our girls are looking forward to play them again this afternoon at 3pm.”
New Caledonia woman’s coach Yvan Pounguy expressed his delight at the victory, a major dose of good news for his country before the Pacific Games in the next few weeks.
“Our players played with great patience and did a good job,” Pounguy told vanuafoot website.
“Vanuatu played a wonderful possession game with sharp attacking power that made it hard to play our style of football in the first half but we managed to work things out in the second half.”
Vanuatu will play New Caledonia again today (Thursday 11 August at 3pm). Venue: Port Vila Stadium.
