VFF, in collaboration with the Torba Football Association, has opened a new office in Sola on Vanua Lava which was officially opened by VFF President Lambert Maltock on 29 October, during the opening day of the Football Teams President’s Forum.
“2014 marks 80 years since the establishment of football in Vanuatu way back in 1934 but currently the developments of football throughout the country do not reflect improvements throughout this length of time,” Maltock said.
Maltock told the crowd he believed the initiative would more closely align regional and national football standards, while also allowing VFF to further share financial grants from OFC and FIFA with the provinces.
Torba Provincial Government respresentative Christopher Mackenzie applauded VFF on the initiative.
“This event is a way forward in the history of football development in Torba Province and will pave the way for the identification of football stars,” Mackenzie said.
He added that the new office should take advantage of the Provincial Government’s network to help deliver its services.
