SUVA – DEFENDING Fiji Bitter FACT champions, Ba has been placed in a tough pool as the first major tournament approaches.

Ba, which won the Fiji FACT along with the other two tournaments which are Battle of the Giants and Inter District Championships, has been seeded in Pool One.

Ba leads Pool One with Rewa, Suva, Nadroga and Lautoka while host town, Nadi leads Pool Two with Nasinu, Navua, Labasa and Tavua.

The tournament will be at Nadi’s Prince Charles Park from May 29-June 1, with a total of $40,000 up for grabs.

The winner will net a cook $11,000.

Tournament coordinator Hari Raj Naicker echoed similar sediments.

"It’s going to be a very interested tourney and looking at the pool anyone can guess who’ll be making it to the semis," he said.

He said despite the economic conditions and past expenses, they won’t reduce the prize money of $11,000 for the winner.

"Fans should be aware that Friday is a public holiday and there’s going to be a lot of action in Nadi especially with the New World National League now in progress seeing that there’s four teams at the top competing," he said.

Ba, Lautoka, Nadi and Labasa are chasing top spot after the initial round to try and win the right to represent Fiji at the O League next year.
