The champions’ crown was not the only prize Utulei went home with as the season came to a close, with Kaleopa Siligi walking away with a wealth of awards including the Golden Boot for most goals scored and being awarded the league’s Most Valuable Player.
Elama Fa’atonu was named the MVP of the final after scoring twice against Vaitogi while also putting in a stellar defensive effort for his team.
In the third place playoff, Lion Heart beat FC SKBC to claim the final podium spot.
In the lead-up to the final Utulei Youth eked out a 2-1 win in a difficult but exciting semi-final match up with Lion Heart.
The second semi-final between Vaitogi United and FC SKBC was also a thriller with victory for the former setting up an all- Pool A final between Vaitogi and Utulei.
Football Federation American Samoa is currently working on organising a seven-a-side, outdoors tournament for women in the next month before preparing for the 11-a-side national league later in the year.
