AS Mont Dore took full advantage of playing the only game in the Super Ligue this weekend by securing a 3-0 win over Mouli to jump to the top of the table.
With the match between AS Magenta and Thio called off because of a severe storm, Mont Dore only needed to win to take top spot and did it at a canter.
It was the third win in a row for Mont Dore and was somewhat expected after AS Magenta triumphed to a 9-1 win over Mouli in an earlier round.
Ramon Djamali opened the scoring for Mont Dore in the 23rd minute when he found space inside the box to turn and bury the ball into the bottom corner.
Djamili doubled his tally and put the game out of doubt in the 75th minute when he slipped the ball between the Mouli goalkeeper and his near post.
Jerome Taxier finished off the scoring in the 87th minute when he glided in late at the far post to finish off a slick team move.
The match between AS Magenta and Thio made it to the 72nd minute before the referee decided it was impossible to finish the match.
Magenta were leading the match 2-1 before two torrid downpours struck the pitch, where in some areas puddles10cm deep had gathered.
“The physical integrity of the players was concerned and I could not let the play continue,” said referee Laurent Quere.
