The country’s central competition was due to kick-off on February 2 in the Northern and Southern regions but has now been deferred until the end of May.
The decision to delay the competition follows the release of the 2013 OFC Champions League dates with VFF president Lambert Maltock saying the federation wants to accomodate Vanuatu side Amicale’s preparations for the tournament.
“This year will be a very busy year for Vanuatu football. Amicale will participate in the OFC Champions League, which begins in March,” Maltock says.
“So to help them prepare well VFF feels it is proper to reschedule the competition to begin after the Champions League has concluded.”
The country’s respective member associations will now have until March 29 to submit the names of their club champions.
