A Normalisation Committee was recently instated by FIFA at the Solomon Islands Football Federation, a Committee headed up by Ian Shaw and local leaders with strong experience in the commercial and government sectors.
The purpose of the visit is for FIFA and OFC officials to meet with the Normalisation Committee and various stakeholders in Solomon Islands to assess the reform process since their appointment in October.
“Solomon Islands is such a passionate and football loving nation that FIFA and OFC want to ensure Solomon Islands Football Federation is back on track to develop and promote the game and prepare its national teams for the regional and world stage,” Chung said.
The Normalisation Committee are tasked in the 12 month period with implementing new Statutes, better financial controls, improved administration, strong development programmes and better football infrastructure and facilities.
The FIFA and OFC delegation will be in Honiara until 17th November 2013.
