Samoan goalkeeper Pasi Schwalger has been one of the key components in his sides resurrection in the Foxtel Cup.

Schwalger has played every minute of the last five game for the Fawkner Blues and has helped his side to three wins from the last five matches.

The Blues suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Altona Magic in their last match and are now sitting second bottom of the Foxtel Cup’s fourteen club league leading into the business end of the season.

But their recent form has been more encouraging and the Blues will be relying on Schwalger to keep a steady ship at the back and help raise their side out of relegation danger.

Schwalger has kept one clean sheet  – at the Blues’ CB Smith Reserve home against the Whittlesea Zebras on 22 June in a match won 1-0 by Fawkner.

The 25-year-old custodian was one of Samoa’s leading lights at last year’s XIII South Pacific Games – Samoa 2007 as the host nation narrowly missed out on qualification for the semi-finals at Toleafoa J.S. Blatter Playing Field.

Schwalger has played most of his senior career in Australian football since making his international debut for Samoa seven years ago.
