SUVA – Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) FUTSAL golden boot winner Kamal Hassan has been signed by Suva Soccer team to feature for the Whites in the new window which came into effect today.
The former Rewa striker had taken the FUTSAL Championships which ended in the weekend by storm and scored 14 goals for Fiji during the tourney.
Suva team director, Anup Kumar said they are delighted to sign Hassan as he is an excellent finisher and has a very bright future ahead of him.
“Kamal is an exceptional player and his inclusion will certainly boost our morale in the new window as we were badly lacking in our strike force this season” he said.
Kumar declined to divulge the financial details of his contract saying they will be making an official confirmation soon.
Also joining the Capital City side in the new window are former Labasa reps Dinesh Mudaliar and Azmat Begg alongside Savusavu midfielder Nilesh Singh.
Rewa defender Lorima Dau who had earlier intended to play for the team withdrew his application yesterday holding his loyalty to Rewa.
“These players have shown commitment in coming back and playing for Suva as they had previously played for the district so we have signed them and they will be part of our campaign in the new window.
“Our top goalkeeper Alifereti Baleloa was lured by Rewa officials to join them and had signed an application for a release but I am happy to hear that he has withdrawn his application and is willing to continue with Suva,” added Kumar.
Meanwhile, Fiji U23 rep Alvin Prasad has been released by Suva to feature for Rewa in the new window while Mira Sahib and Ni Vanuatu Joseph Nimariau’s release requests are still being processed.
Nimariau and Sahib are expected to join Labasa after getting their clearances from Suva.
Suva will feature in the Super Six Series which will commence this weekend.
