When one thinks of football what normally comes to mind are the players, coaches and referees, however the FFS believes it is just as important to acknowledge the people on the sideline whose actions can have just as much of an impact on the outcome of matches.
The men and women of the Red Cross volunteer their own time and skills to provide medical care for the players and officials when they sustain injuries.
FFS CEO Sarai Bareman says the safety and well-being of players and officials during tournaments and the national league is paramount.
“Without the selfless volunteers who show up every week from the Red Cross our tournaments would not be successful.
“They have done a marvellous job in the past three seasons and we hope to see them continue their good work for the benefit of our members.”
The FFS hopes the donation will help the Samoa Red Cross Society to continue the good work it does supporting football, as well as the community of Samoa.
The 2012/13 National League season begins on October 17 at the J.S. Blatter Football Complex in Tuanaimato.
