In Noumea, Mont Dore were playing second division side Goa who proved a spirited opponent, taking an early lead against the Super Ligue side.
However, the “Red and Blacks” threw everything into securing an equaliser and were eventually rewarded in the closing stages of the game, getting a well-deserved equaliser.
Mont Dore then dominated the penalty shoot-out 5-3 to claim the first berth in the final of the Coupe de Caledonie.
The competition headed north for the second semi-final with east coast club Hienghene welcoming Magenta to Stade Yoshida in Kone.
2011 OFC Player of the Year Bertrand Kai helped his side into the lead with a great effort just 13 minutes into the match.
However Magenta, led by former coach of Les Cagous Alain Moizan, weren’t going to give away a spot in the final too easily.
After dominating the game in the second half Magenta finally got their equaliser courtesy of a Marek Aucher goal.
Neither side had enough to separate them from their opponent, with the match eventually heading into a penalty shoot-out which the Northern-based side won 5-4.
Mont Dore will face Hienghene in the Coupe de Caledonie final, with the winner of that match qualifying to enter the 7th Round of the Coupe de France in November.
