He will be supported in leading the side by Petero Dauniseka, who has been named as vice-captain.
Eight other players will make their debut for the side at the tournament, which will be held at the Vodafone Arena in Suva from August 8 to 14.
Hassan, who was a nominee for the 2009 OFC men’s player of the year award, and Uraia Loki are the only survivors from the squad that finished runners-up in the event last year.
Included in the list of players making their first appearances are the likes of Dauniseka, New Zealand-based star striker Roy Krishna, Ajesh Narayan, Vikash Reddy and Ratu Josefata Dugucagi.
