Delcroix says cutting the squad down to just 20 players has not been an easy task, but now the team can focus on their build-up together.
“We have had a group of 22-23 players over the last few days and the decision was a very difficult one to make,” he says.
“We are also waiting for the arrival of Stéphane Tien-Padom, who has been training with the French national U-19 team in Châteauroux. He is an offensive player who will make a beneficial contribution to the team thanks to his experience in the French championship.”
The U-20 team will continue their preparations with matches against the senior national side which is also preparing for an international competition – the FIFA World Cup qualifying games on 22 and 26 March against New Zealand and Tahiti respectively.
