The defender met with club officials last month and stated his intention to put pen to paper when he returns in July.
Naqeleca was part of the Spirit 08 squad in the Super League last year and showed his versatility by starring in both midfield and defence.
He says he can’t wait to line up again for a Vanuatu club.
“I am happy to be back, this time with the champions,” Naqeleca says.
“I know that the club will put me in a good condition to play well and I am sure that I will play with confidence and enthusiasm to achieve what I want.”
Naqeleca, who has represented his country at U-15, U-17 and U-20 level, headed home after meeting with Amicale officials and will play for Suva in the Fiji FACT tournament, which takes place at Churchill Park in Lautoka from June 9 to 13.
But, despite reports of other interest from Fijian sides Navua and Rewa, he plans to return to Port Vila next month and officially complete the signing.
He believes Amicale have an exciting squad and has his sights set on a successful O-League campaign.
“They have great players from Vanuatu and Solomon Islands and I am looking forward to coming back to play with them,” he says.
“I just want to do my best, to do well with Amicale in the O-League if they qualify again and to help the fans in Port Vila to be happy.”
Amicale administrator Marcellino Barthelemy is delighted to have lured Naqeleca to the club and feels his versatility will be an asset.
“Esava is a great player and we need him a lot because he can play in many positions. We are happy that he can make his way back to Vanuatu to play for our club.”
