OFC technical director Patrick Jacquemet conducted the workshop with the help of Patrice Flaccadori, assistant technical director for the Fédération Tahitienne De Football (FTF).
During the official opening, VFF president Lambert Maltock presented a report on the development of football in Vanuatu and praised the federation’s staff for their years of hard work.
Jacquemet then gave a presentation in which he outlined the direction VFF should work towards over the next four years.
The targets of this plan are broken up into a number of different categories: administration and structure of the technical department, development, education and training, elite programme, women’s football, futsal, beach soccer, competitions, refereeing, and medical.
Goals have been set out within each of these categories and the aim is for them all to be completed by 2014.
The workshop was well attended by members of the Vanuatu federation, including technical director Charles Vatu, finance officer Herve Malere and media officer Harry Atisson. Academy coaches and members of the executive were also present, along with representatives from the medical department, referees, beach soccer, futsal and women’s football.
Jacquemet says the workshop was a success and believes the right staff are in place at VFF to make the development plan go smoothly.
“President Maltock and the technical director Charles Vatu are both very motivated,” he says.
“Everything went well and I am looking forward to watching football in Vanuatu develop over the next four years.”
