AUCKLAND: Port Vila Sharks and Hekari Souths United FC have their backs against the wall as they prepare to face Auckland City and Ba respectively in their return leg O-League matches this Saturday.

Both teams are without a win in the competition and will need their luck to change if they are to have any hope of advancing. But standing in their way will be an in-form Auckland team and Fijian Champions Ba, who both have the advantage of a home crowd behind them.

In the Group A match kicking off at 3:00pm at Kiwitea Street, hosts City will look to follow up their 2-0 victory in the first leg with another win to move top in their group. Auckland currently sit first equal with Waitakere United after both teams secured a win and a draw from their first two Group A matches. The Auckland outfit will be full of confidence coming off the back of two big wins in the New Zealand Football Championship.

Meanwhile in Group B, Hekari will be looking to avenge their heartbreaking 2-1 loss to Ba on 13 December in the first ever O-League match played in Papua New Guinea. On that occasion, Ba secured the win with a penalty in the 84th minute much to the consternation of the 8,000 fans who turned out in Port Moresby. This time around Fiji’s ‘Men in Black’ have lost key player Pita Baleitoga but will be boosted by the arrival of former Nadroga goalkeeper Jone Ralulu and Suva ’s Petero Dauniseka. Both are tipped to make their debuts on Saturday.
