Twins Michel and Raoul Coulon, who both play their club football with Tupuji Imere in the Port Vila premier division, have been named in the Vanuatu squad and coach Moise Poida believes they will fit in well with the rest of the group.
Poida says he has struggled to whittle the side down to just 20 players, but is happy with the make-up of the final squad.
“It was a very difficult task for us to select the final 20 players to go to the tournament. More than 30 players attended the trainings from day one and showed a lot of commitment,” he says.
“We had to finalise the team list in a short space of time, but as the coach I have full faith that these players can perform at the play-offs in Fiji. I trust that the boys will play well and make our people proud back in Vanuatu.”
The team departs for Fiji on 17 March and will play their first match of the competition against hosts Fiji on 21 March at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
