The New Zealand-based 23-year-old has already proven himself in the 11-a-side game and is now aiming to set a similar standard in futsal.
He is confident of a good showing at the OFC champs and can’t wait to take centre stage.
“Whenever you enter to play, one should be ready for what awaits him,” he says.
“I’m looking forward to the futsal championship and hopefully I will have a good outing. At the moment I have put the 11-a-side game to one side and my entire focus is on the futsal code.”
The Waitakere United and Labasa speedster is not a recognised futsal player and does not have a wealth experience in the sport to draw on.
But the small-sided indoor version of football has always interested him and he is delighted to be involved with the national squad.
“I was not able to contest for a place in the futsal side in the past,” he says.
“This year, Fiji FA technical director Saiyad Ali told me I had the talent and qualities they were looking for and I was keen to represent the country. We have got a good squad of young, skilful players and hopefully we can do the country proud.”
Coach Hussein Sahib and his team meet Tahiti in their opening match at 8pm on Sunday at the Vodafone Arena.
That match, and every other game from the championship, will be streamed live right here at www.oceaniafootball.com.
