Solomon Islands international Benjamin Totori was the hero for Uncles FC at the weekend with a 25th minute strike that sunk the fancied Kossa FC in front of thousands of fans at Lawson Tama Stadium.
The 1-0 win takes Uncles to the top of Group B in the 2009 Our Telekom National Club Championship and keeps their hopes of making the semi finals very much alive.
Totori led from the front and scored after collecting a Kidston Billy pass that was tucked neatly behind Kossa defenders Samson Takayama and skipper Gideon Omokirio.
Uncles have now won two matches and drawn one while former O-League representatives Kossa have won two and lost one.
In other action on Match Day 7, Sunbeam recorded its second win in the tournament with three unanswered goals against Guadalcanal Province Champion Malango FC. Sunbeam’s new recruit Rex Honu scored a goal in each half.
The victory puts the HFA Minor Championship winners second equal with Marist on six points in Group A but Marist have a game in hand.
In the only other match of the day, Banika Bulls of Central Province won a nine-goal thriller eventually overpowering Gossa FC 5-4.
