The eight-page lift-out is a new venture between Fiji FA and the Fiji Sun and will be distributed free with the newspaper every Wednesday.
Fiji FA chief executive officer Bob Kumar says the new initiative is a perfect chance to further promote football in the country.
He says it would not have been possible without the support of the Fiji Sun.
“On behalf of the Fiji FA family and President Dr Muhammed Shams-Ud-Dean Sahu Khan, I would like to thank Fiji Sun News Limited and especially the CEO and publisher Peter Lomas, who has been very supportive.”
Lomas is just as excited to be taking up the venture.
“Like all successful football, it’s a result of teamwork. Fiji Football News will be compiled by the association’s secretariat, managed by chief executive officer Bob Kumar. He will be strongly supported by his team, led by media officer Moiz Munif.”
He says the aim of the lift-out is simple.
“We want to encourage and promote the development of football in Fiji, as well as keeping everyone fully informed about Fiji FA and all it and its members are doing.”
Lomas is delighted to see the relationship between federation and newspaper continue to develop.
“This partnership is most visible through our sponsorship of the Fiji Sun Weet-Bix National Football League. It ranges from super premier and premier divisions to development through the under-19 and under-16 leagues,” he says.
“We are the official newspaper of Fiji FA and are also proudly part of the CJ Patel group, which has a long and strong commitment to supporting football in Fiji. We all look forward to welcoming readers to the Fiji Football News every Wednesday.”
