The Peter Sakael coached Manus side, who had earlier topped Pool B and overcome Koupa in the semi-final, continued their dominant form with a staunch defensive performance in the decider.
In the women’s final the Port Moresby Soccer Association beat Lahi 1-0 after scoring in the 13th minute and controlling the game with the majority of possession.
Following the men’s match Sakael says his team now feel a sense of relief, having set the goal of retaining the title from the first day of training for the 2015 campaign.
“We are proud of this achievement and the credit goes back to the players who put their bodies on the line to achieve the result we deserved,” he says.
“From day one our players and team management have worked very well together, with the common goal of winning another Besta Cup title, and to do so is very pleasing.”
In the third and fourth place play-off Koupa defeated Momase 6-4 in an entertaining game which featured end-to-end action through the 90 minutes.
