Eighteen teams took part in the four-day tournament over the two divisions which meant there was plenty of talent and different playing styles on display.
The finals were watched by a faithful crowd of supporters cheering for their team as the U-17 squad downed Lahi 3-1, before the U-20 overcame a stiff challenge from Port Moresby side NCD PSSA to successfully defend the Nuigini Tablebirds Cup.
NCD PSSA had come out of their pool on top winning two games and drawing three before facing Madang in the final. While they didn’t take the top prize the runners-up did earn the Fair Play award to end the competition on a positive note.
PNGFA CEO Dimirit Mileng says it was good see another successful tournament wrap up.
“I am satisfied to see the tournament come to a very successful end,” Mileng said.
