Led by OFC Consultant Giovani Fernandes, the aim of the course is to enhance knowledge of the game, with a focus on creating a link between coaching methods and the Fiji FA vision and playing philosophy.
“It’s an exciting opportunity to have some top-level players from Fiji on the course, with all of them being provided a great avenue to share their experiences and knowledge,” Fernandes says.
“The Fiji FA has a football philosophy now and the national team coach has also implemented a playing philosophy, we want to increase awareness of that and help to ensure a smooth transition for coaches.
“We also want to link it to the player development model in the hope that it will produce the future generation of Fijian leaders.”
Former Fiji national team and Ba midfielder Keni Doidoi says attending the course will help him to show his love and passion for football through another avenue, now he has retired as a player.
“Most of my life I have been playing football and now I want to take the next step and get involved in coaching,” Doidoi says.
“I will be doing my best to learn and gain more knowledge of coaching aspects, just as I did when I was a player.”
The week-long course will conclude on 4 November.
